Chicago mayoral candidate Lori Lightfoot spent the day with the Coalition on the city’s northwest side. After a round table session hosted by the Muslim Community Center (MCC), the masjid gifted Lori with a copy of “The American Masjid.”
On November 16th, the Coalition spent the day with Chicago mayoral candidate Gery Chico. We took him to visit some of our member organizations on the city’s north side. Important to state on social media that Lori Lightfoot visited Coaltion members. *The Coalition is not endorsing a mayoral candidate until later on this month. We appreciate candidates spending time getting to know our diverse and talented Chicago Muslim community.*
The coalition was honored to host congressman and incoming attorney general of Minnesota @repkeithellison today at our political training, “Taking our seats at the table”. Over 60 members of the community, along with other allies packed the room for all day trainings, workshops and panels on the nuts & bolts of running for public office! ✊🏽🗳
