Maaria Mozaffar serves as a Legislative Consultant at the Muslim Civic Coalition.

Maaria is a civil rights attorney, mediator and legislative drafter and consultant. Mozaffar has spearheaded statewide coalitions, drafting city wide, statewide and Congressional legislations and developing legislative strategies in areas of criminal justice reform, food justice, women advancement and education policy in Illinois. Maaria is the principal attorney for the Law Office of Maaria Mozaffar, Immigration Chair for Chicago Women Take Action, Co-Chair for Leadership and Inclusion for the Women and Girls Council of Illinois, a statewide appointment made by Governor J.B. Pritzker. She has held recent positions of Legislative Attorney for Cair Chicago, Senior Policy Advisor/Board Member for the Inner City Muslim Action Network where she led, developed legislative strategy and drafted legisations for both organizations. Maaria is also a Policy Contributor for Womens’ March Chicago and Committee member of Human Rights Watch Chicago Committee. Maaria received her JD from the University of Illinois College of Law and her Bachelors from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Political Science and English Short Fiction. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
